Iowa Wesleyan prevails in four sets over Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College freshman opposite Heather Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) notched nine kills, ten assists, and ten digs, but the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers prevailed, 25-14, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14, Thursday night in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action inside the Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center on the campus of Eureka College.

Sophomore defensive specialist Emily Harrod (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) served up four service aces, while sophomore outside hitter Beth Mickna (Deer Creek, Ill./Dee-Mack) added five total blocks, including four block solos.

Freshman defensive specialist Jordan Detmers (Hartsburg, Ill./Hartsburg-Emden) added 28 digs, with Harrod chipping in 12.

Eureka will conclude their home slate with a 7 p.m. non-conference match on Monday against Lincoln Christian. The contest versus the Lions will serve as Parent Appreciation Night.
