Eureka Competes at Keck DIII Select

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Eureka cross country and distance team had an impressive performance on Saturday at the Keck DIII Select Meet, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.

The women's team saw standout efforts across the board. Emily Baker (Washington, Ill./Washington) competed in the mile, finishing with a time of 6:49.41, marking a significant improvement and hopefully signaling that her injuries are behind her. Odessa Grove (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) also competed in the mile, posting a time of 7:58.00. Isabella Carbajal (Chicago, Ill./Shepard) ran the 400m, clocking in at 1:15.85 for a season-best time, while Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) ran the 800m in 2:41.53.

On the men's side, Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) had a standout day, setting personal records in both the 5000m (16:37.25) and the 800m (2:08.61). Merdi Ilonga (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) ran a new personal best in the 400m, finishing in 51.43, while teammates Jose Amador (Kempton, Ill./Tri-Point) and Hayden Skaggs (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) posted times of 57.15 and 1:16.10 in the 400m, respectively.
