Reece Scragg was named Eureka College women's soccer head coach, according to an announcement from Director of Athletics Sara Shaw on Wednesday.

Scragg is the sixth head coach in Eureka women's soccer history. He comes to Eureka after three years as an assistant coach for both the women's and men's programs at NCAA Division III Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan.

"I am excited and humbled to be the new women's soccer head coach at Eureka College," Scragg said. "Thank you to Sara Shaw and the rest of Eureka College for believing and trusting in me for this position. The hard work begins now as we embark on a new adventure together to change the future of this program, and I am excited for the challenge.

At Olivet, Scragg was responsible for leading practice sessions and conditioning workouts, monitoring student-athletes' academic progress, evaluating and recruiting prospective players. He also organized and coordinated ID camps, filed in-depth scouting reports, and helped manage the program budget and fundraising activities.

"We are extremely excited about Reece coming on board here and joining our team," Shaw said. "He brings a wealth of soccer knowledge to the program, but he also has the enthusiasm, energy, and experience we need to bring our program to the next level. He has been a part of the rebuilding and transformation process at other institutions, and he knows exactly what we need at Eureka to get our program where we want it to be."

A native of Wolverhampton, England, Scragg has over 15 years of coaching experience and he has had a unique journey within the sport that has taken him to three different countries.

He has been coaching since he was 16 years old, starting out coaching youth soccer in his community. When he was 18, he had his first international coaching experience at a series of summer camps in Ukraine. That led to Scragg moving to California a year later to join UK International Soccer, a coaching center that provides developmental programs for children of all ages and abilities.

Scragg ran camps and coached youth teams up and down the west coast for three years before settling in as a boys' soccer varsity head coach in La Center, Washington.

After five years at the helm of the program, he became a head coach for the club team called the Washington Timbers in Vancouver, Washington, where he stayed for four years. He joined the Olivet coaching staff in 2020, and he has since helped the women's and men's programs steadily improve.

Scragg received his diploma in health sciences from Telford College in Telford, England, in 2010.
