EUREKA – The 2023 campaign came to an end for the Eureka women's soccer team on Friday with a 10-0 loss against Westminster.
The Blue Jays scored six goals in the first 45 minutes, then added four more in the second half on a rainy, cold night at McKinzie Field. Ten different Westminster players found the back of the net.
Eureka goalkeeper Gabby Penberthy (Sullivan, Ill./Sullivan) recorded 13 saves in the last match of her freshman season.
The Red Devils complete the year 0-14 in a tough fall in which a variety of multi-sport athletes stepped up to contribute to the program in Coach Reece Scragg's first year at the helm.
Despite the results on the pitch, the team showed a lot of grit in fighting their way through the season.
