EUREKA – The Eureka women's soccer team's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season ended with a 2-0 loss against Principia on Saturday.

The Red Devils held the Panthers scoreless for 71 minutes, but Viviane DeCastro put the visitors on the board in the 72nd minute and Adriana Rucks made it 2-0 in the 85th.

Goalkeeper Lizzie Brooksher (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) tallied 17 saves in the net for the Red Devils, stopping nearly everything that came her way. Sydney Gabbard (Stilesville, Ind./Stilesville) notched the lone shot on goal for the home team.

At halftime, Eureka recognized three players who were playing in their final home soccer game: Daniela Gonzales (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods/Lincoln), Kate LeMasters (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) and manager Alexis Frye. All three are two-year members of the program.

On Monday at 1 p.m., the Red Devils (3-13, 2-12 SLIAC) will conclude the 2022 season on the road against Mount Mary (0-13-4).
