EC Falls at Fontbonne in Season Finale, 8-0

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Eureka women's soccer team concluded its season Saturday afternoon away from home, falling against Fontbonne 8-0.
 
The Griffins did the majority of their damage in the first half as Caroline Neal got things started early on in the fifth minute.
Rebecca Bass would get a goal just two minutes later on an assist that came from the boot of Neal putting Fontbonne up 2-0.
 
Neal and Bass would each score again in the first half. Neal got her second goal in the 10th minute and Bass got a second in the 33rd minute.
 
Libby Bateman would get in the mix of things as well scoring in the 16th minute of the first half. 
 
Kiersten Weaver would be the next Fontbonne attacker involved, as she capitalized on an opportunity in the 37th minute of play. The Red Devils would head into the half in a 6-0 hole. The Griffins added two goals in the second half to put the game away for good. Both goals were converted by Sam Amezcua in the 79th and 88th minutes, respectively. 
 
EC goalkeeper Abby Swope (Canton, Ill./Canton) recorded 14 saves in the Red Devils' final match of the season.
