Shelby Chrisman-Forza Named Eureka College Women’s Soccer Head Coach

EUREKA – Shelby Chrisman-Forza has been named Eureka College women's soccer head coach, according to an announcement from Director of Athletics Bryan Moore Monday morning.

Chrisman-Forza comes to Eureka after nearly three years on the NCAA Division III Piedmont College coaching staff in Demorest, Georgia. She started as graduate assistant in 2015 and was the assistant coach from 2017 to 2018.

"We're looking forward to Shelby leading our women's soccer program," Moore said. "Not only does she have a proven track record as a recruiter in Division III, her energy and enthusiasm are evident, and we're confident she will be a great mentor to our women's soccer student-athletes on and off the pitch."

During her time at Piedmont, the women's team went 50-8-5, winning back-to-back USA South Conference Tournament titles in 2015-2016, a regular-season league title in 2017, and receiving two conference Player of the Year honorees, one Rookie of the Year honor and 22 all-conference selections.

At Piedmont, she was responsible for recruiting potential student-athletes, organizing team travel, helping manage the program budget, monitoring classroom and academic progress, designing and implementing a strength conditioning programs and handling digital content for team viewing.

Since last summer, Chrisman-Forza has coached club soccer in Gainesville, Georgia, organizing training sessions, mentoring athletes and monitoring their progress.

"I am thrilled to be joining the staff here at Eureka College," Chrisman-Forza said. "I could not be more excited about the future of the Red Devils' women's soccer program. I am honored by the faith, and appreciative of the support, from Athletic Director Bryan Moore, as well as the rest of the athletic department."

A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Chrisman-Forza attended and played soccer at NCAA Division II Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina from 2009 to 2012.

At Wingate, she led her team to the South Atlantic Conference Tournament title in 2011 and made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2011 and 2012.

During her junior and senior seasons, the Bulldog went 30-7-2. She recorded the match-winning goal in the 2011 SAC Championship against Lenoir-Rhyne and received first-team all-conference honors after recording seven goals and five assists as a forward in 2012. She was also on the Wingate track and field team for three years, winning a Southeast Regional team championship in 2012.

Chrisman-Forza graduated from Wingate in 2013 with a bachelor's degree of science in sports management, and received a master's of business administration at Piedmont in 2017.

Before she joined the Piedmont staff, she coached club soccer in Ontario and played for the Pickering Power in the Ontario Women's Soccer League in 2014. That season, she led the Central Division in scoring with 13 goals in 14 matches while leading her team to an 11-3 record.

Chrisman-Forza is the fifth head coach in Eureka women's soccer history and succeeds Dwain Baker, who will remain EC's men's head coach.
