Preview: Eureka Ready For Bulk of SLIAC Schedule

Update (Tuesday, 1:05 p.m.): Tuesday's match against Principia was postponed until Thursday at 4 p.m. at McKinzie Field due to inclement weather.

EUREKA, Ill. – St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action will continue to heat up for the Eureka College women's soccer team this week. The Red Devils will welcome Principia for a 7 p.m. kickoff under the lights at McKinzie Field on Tuesday before visiting Greenville Saturday at 3 p.m.

LAST WEEK IN REVIEW

MacMurray's Emily Kolo scored her second goal of the season just 29 seconds into last Wednesday's SLIAC match against Eureka, setting the tone for the Highlanders' 7-0 league win over the Red Devils in Jacksonville, Ill.

Kolo scored twice for MC. Lyndi Saccaro tallied three goals in the first 18 minutes and scored four times overall. Sarah Domkowski logged five saves for EC.

Eureka lost a 9-0 SLIAC decision to Spalding last Saturday afternoon at Traister Field.

The Golden Eagles received the match-winning goal in the first minute from Baylee Taber. The SU lead was 7-0 at halftime.

PRINCIPIA AT EUREKA (TUESDAY, 7 p.m.)

Eureka will host Principia at McKinzie Field Tuesday at 7 p.m., the nightcap of a men'-women's doubleheader under the lights. The Panthers have sputtered to a 2-10-0 overall record and a 1-2-0 SLIAC mark in 2017. PC earned its first league victory last Tuesday over Blackburn, a 5-0 final score.

The Red Devils will be in search of their first-ever win against Principia. The Panthers have all won 11 meetings between the two schools since 2007.

EUREKA AT GREENVILLE (SATURDAY, 3 p.m.)

The Red Devils will close the week with a Saturday visit to Greenville at 3 p.m. The Panthers have been solid this season, putting up a 9-4-0 record and a spotless 3-0-0 mark against conference opponents. GU is scheduled to host Fontbonne on Thursday before playing Eureka Saturday.

Greenville has won seven consecutive matches since a 3-1 win at Illinois College on Sept. 20. GU has yielded one goal or less in all seven victories and has outscored its opponents 12-2 in three SLIAC matches.

GU is 13-0-0 all-time against Eureka since the Red Devils began fielding a team in 2007. Seven of the 13 victories have come in Greenville.
