Eureka Picked Ninth in SLIAC

St. Louis, Mo. -- The Eureka College women's soccer team was picked to finish ninth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for the 2016 campaign.

Eureka, under third year head coach Dwain Barker, was picked to top Iowa Wesleyan during conference play, with 17 points to 11, respectively. The Red Devils wrapped up the 2015 campaign with a record of 4-14-1 and a SLIAC record of 1-8. Six starters return for the Red Devils, with returning leading goal scorer sophomore Mecayela Monroe, who netted 4 of the team's goals.

Senior Kalionna Mathews will return to the penalty area, having 189 saves last year. That mark of 189 saves placed her third on the Red Devils' single-season saves list and second on the all-time list with 355.

The Red Devils will kick off their 2016 campaign on September 7 at 4pm against Mount Mary at Traister Field. Conference play will begin on September 24.
