Red Devils Victorious at Labor Day Invite

Milwaukee, Wis. — The Red Devils concluded the Mount Mary's Labor Day Invitational with a 3-2 victory over the Mount Mary Blue Angels. Senior Faith Williams (Robinson, Il./Robinson) led Eureka with two goals in the second half — 80th and 85th minutes. 

The Red Devils came out strong to start the match, maintaining possession for the majority of the half. Mount Mary had early shots in the game, scoring in the twelfth minute. The Red Devils, however, did not back down, scoring a goal in the 29th minute byKayleigh Choma (Austintown, OH/Fitch). Kaitlyn West (Fort Worth, TX/Haltom) and Choma led the team with seven shots each.

During the second half, Eureka did not step down, keeping the intensity throughout the game. They shot early and often, keeping Mount Mary's goal keeper on her toes. The defense kept the ball in the attacking half, only allowing two shots for the home team. 

The Red Devils (2-2) continue play this week, starting SLIAC competition at Mount Pleasant, Iowa against Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday. Game time is scheduled at 5 p.m.
