EUREKA, Ill. -- Kayla Brown scored the match-winning goal for Knox in the 3rd minute, igniting a three-goal outburst over the first 45 minutes of play and lifting the Prairie Fire to a 9-0 non-conference victory over the Red Devils, Wednesday afternoon at Traister Field.
The visitors got goals from six different players. Eureka junior goal keeper Kalionna Mathews (Troy, Ill./Triad) made a season-high 18 saves over the full 90 minutes.
Eureka will continue non-conference action Sunday with a noon matchup against Berea College. The bout will be the first ever between the two colleges.
