ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Freshman Josie Morgan (Washington, Ill./Washington) dropped a career-high 26 points and Eureka found its offense late, but Fontbonne earned a 97-81 win over the Red Devils at the Dunham Student Activity Center Wednesday night.

Junior Ashley Harfst (Saunemin, Ill./Pontiac) and freshman Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) both posted double-doubles for Eureka in losing effort. The former scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while the latter recorded 13 and 10.

Morgan shot 9 for 20 from the field and knocked down four of the team's five 3-pointers. Freshman Sierrah Seals (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) added 10 points, while Kennedy Dura (Edwards, Ill. / Brimfield) recorded a team-high four assists.

Five players reached double figures for Fontbonne, with guards Rylee Stafford and Riley Guffey notching 19 apiece.

The Griffins (7-8, 4-3 SLIAC) opened with a 10-1 run that set the tone for the contest, and Eureka wasn't able to catch up the rest of the way.

The closest it came was during the fourth quarter, when the Red Devils (5-9, 2-6) outscored the Griffins 29-27.

Trailing by 18 entering the final frame, EC went on a 9-4 run to come within 13 on a Morgan 3-pointer. The Red Devils continued to chip away at the lead until Harft's layup made it a 10-point game with 3:08 left. Fontbonne, however, sealed it with an 18-12 spurt.
