Three Red Devils Named All-SLIAC, Reneau Voted Player of the Year

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Eureka College senior guard Hayley Reneau (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S./Illinois Central) has been selected St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, league commissioner Angie Morenz announced Friday at the league's annual tournament in Greenville, Ill. Reneau was a First Team selection, while senior Kerrigan Dura (Edwards, Ill./Brimfield H.S.) and sophomore Kennedy Dura (Edwards, Ill./Brimfield H.S.) were each voted to the All-SLIAC Second Team.

Reneau, who is now a two-time All-SLIAC First Team selection, was also chosen for the league's All-Defensive Team. She is the Red Devils' third SLIAC Player of the Year award recipient in 12 seasons in the league and the first since Caty Eeten earned the honor as a sophomore in 2012. Eureka's Nicole Fisher was the SLIAC Player of the Year in 2008.

Reneau entered Friday's SLIAC Tournament semifinal with a scoring average of 22.0 that led the nine-team league and ranked sixth nationally. She also led the SLIAC with 195 field goals made, 75 3-pointers and 96 steals. She finished the regular season with 550 points to become just the third player in program history to reach 500 in a season and her 937 career points are the most by a two-year player in the 43-season history of the program. She took the floor in Friday's SLIAC Tournament semifinal having started all 53 games of her EC career.

Kennedy averaged 12.8 points over 25 starts and distributed a league-best 160 assists to shatter the Red Devils' single-season record and rank fourth nationally in Division III. She shot 43 percent from 3-point range to rank second among league players and, despite nearly exclusively on the perimeter, ranked sixth among SLIAC players with 20 blocked shots. Kennedy's 265 career assists are already 10th-most in program history and most by a player in two seasons in program history.

Kerrigan delivered another season as Eureka's steady hand on offense, averaging 7.0 points and emerging as one of EC's top rebounders with 9.1 per contest. Additionally, her 6.2 assists per game ranked seventh nationally and her season total of 136 ranked fifth on the Red Devils' single-season list. Kerrigan closed the regular season with 384 career assists, second-most in program history and 31 shy of the all-time record of 415 held by the late Molly Hardesty.

For the second consecutive season, sophomore guard Ashley Harfst (Saunemin, Ill./Pontiac H.S.) was Eureka's representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. One player from all nine SLIAC teams is named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Westminster's Grace Archambault was voted SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and Roy Mulholland of league champion Greenville was chosen SLIAC Coach of the Year for the first time.
