ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka College sophomore guard Ashley Harfst (Saunemin, Ill./Pontiac H.S.) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Harfst was the Red Devils' top scorer and rebounder in Saturday's 79-68 league triumph over Webster at the Reagan Athletic Complex.

Harfst delivered her third double-double against a SLIAC opponent this season with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win over the Gorloks. She checked into the contest at the 5:48 mark of the first quarter and never left the floor from that point forward, hitting 3 3-pointers and going 8-for-9 from the free throw line. She also added a pair of steals at the defensive end.

The 5-foot-7 Harfst has emerged as one of the Red Devils' most dependable players this season. She has appeared in all 10 games, five of which have been starts, to averaging 12.0 points and 7.8 rebounds. She is shooting 40 percent from 3-point range, 75 percent from the free throw line and leads the nine-team SLIAC with 46 free throws made through the first month of the campaign.

Monday's announcement marks the first career SLIAC Player of the Week award for Harfst. She joins two-time winner Hayley Reneau as Red Devils to earn the honor this season.

Harfst and the Red Devils will break from SLIAC competition for a two-game trip through Ohio later this week. Eureka will visit Wooster on Thursday at 4 p.m. CST in Wooster, Ohio and follow with a noon CST tip-off Friday against Muskingum in New Concord, Ohio.
