Eureka falls short against Fontbonne in conference tilt

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Senior guard Emily Camden (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) and junior forward Michaela Balducci (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) scored 12 points apiece, but it wasn't enough in a 76-57 St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference loss to the Fontbonne Griffins, Wednesday night inside Mabee Gymnasium in St. Louis, Mo.

Eureka has lost their last four in a row and have slipped to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

The Red Devils were outscored 19-13 in quarter one and 17-15 in quarter two to trail 36-28 at the half. EC turned the ball over 18 times in the first half.

EC shot .265 from the floor (9 of 34) in the second half, while Fontbonne fired at a .552 clip (16 of 29), outscoring the Red Devils 40-29. The Griffins finished with a 40-32 rebound edge and attempted just seven 3-point field goals tries throughout the contest.

FBU's DeAmbra Pilkinton led the host's offensive charge with a game-high 19 points, shooting 7-for-11 from the field.

Freshman Jordan Maxwell (Cuba, Ill./Cuba) sunk a pair of free throws late in the fourth quarter to register her first collegiate points.
