Brett Charlton Named SLIAC Field Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Eureka College sophomore Brett Charlton (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) became the first EC track & field student-athlete to receive weekly honors from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference since 2013 when the league selected him as this week's field athlete of the week. Charlton won the long jump at Saturday's Cougar Invitational in River Forest, Ill.

Charlton's leap of 6.60 meters won the event and was the third-longest jump by a SLIAC athlete this spring. His effort led the way for Eureka's fourth-place team finish at Saturday's event hosted by Concordia (Ill.).

Monday's selection marked Eureka's first track & field athlete of the week award since Austin Andrews was twice selected track athlete of the week in 2013.
