EC indoor track & field find success at Jim Green Invite

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka College track and field team had a successful showing in the 2016 Jim Green Invitational with the men's team finishing 18th and the women's team placing 21st, Saturday inside King Field House in Jacksonville, Ill.

Headlining the highlights included sophomore Michael Slingsby (Granville, Ill./St. Bede Academy) finishing fifth in Flight 3 in men's shot put with a throw of 40.87 ft., while classmate Joe Scott (Flint Hill, Mo./Wentzville Holt) placed eighth in Flight 1 with a toss of 23.26 ft.

Freshman Nathan Schertz (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley) clocked a time of 23.31 in the men's 55 meter wheelchair dash, earning EC ten points.

Rounding out the men's highlights was freshman runner Josh Kuse (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth). Kuse clocked a top-25 time of 23.91 in the men's 200 meter dash.

On the women's side freshman Morgan Armburst (Seneca, Ill./Seneca) collected 2.5 points for the women's team with a sixth place finish in pole vault, successfully clearing 7.8 ft.

Eureka will continue the indoor portion of their spring schedule over the last weekend of February in the Principia Multis in Elsah, Ill.
