Elam, Schertz lead Red Devils at Concordia
RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Sophomore Cooper Elam (Farmington, Ill./Farmington) finished sixth in the men's pole vault with a jump of 3.80 meters (12.46 ft), pacing the Eureka College men's track & field team Saturday in the Cougar Invite on the campus of Concordia University-Chicago.
Freshman Nathan Schertz (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley) ran unopposed in both the men's 100 and 200 meter dash wheelchair with times of 35.55 and 1.11:89, respectively.
Classmate Josh Kuse (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth) run multiple events with his best finish coming in the men's 200 meter dash that saw him place 21st with a run of 23.27 seconds.
The Red Devils finished 22nd in the event that was won by Benedictine University.
