DUBUQUE, IowaKenneth Mantell (Sidney, Ill./Unity H.S.) made the most of his first collegiate shot attempt, scoring his first career goal on an assist from Michael Hansen (Peoria, Ill./Limestoe H.S.) in the 73rd minute of the Eureka College men's soccer team's 1-0 victory over Emmaus Bible, Wednesday night in Dubuque, Iowa. The decision avenges the Red Devils' 3-1 defeat to the Eagles just 11 days ago at Traister Field.

The victory improves the Red Devils to 4-3-0, the third time in program history – all during the Dwain Barker coaching era – EC has won or tied at least four of its first seven matches.

Eureka held a 20-14 advantage in shot attempts and put 12 of its shots on frame.

Moises Aldana (Spring Valley, Ill./Hall H.S.) was spotless in goal for the Red Devils, making five saves to secure his second career shutout victory. He joins Daniel Johnson (2015, 2016) as the only goalkeepers in program history to have at least two 90-minute shutouts in the same season.

Eureka will begin its 12th St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season Saturday at 4 p.m. versus Fontbonne at Traister Field.
