Greenville Takes Down Eureka, 6-1

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Eureka College sophomore Michael Hansen (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S.) became the 10th player in program history to score seven career goals with his tally in the 13th minute, but Greenville delivered enough offense to earn a 6-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over the Red Devils, Saturday night in Greenville, Ill.

GU scored twice in the first seven minutes, including Brent Lehr's match-winning goal on an assist from Adam Jones at 6:47. Jones later made it 3-0 with a goal in the 13th minute.

Hansen moved into a four-way tie for seventh place on the Red Devils' career goals list and became the first EC men's soccer play to score seven career goals since Mark Meyer in 2013. Brock Musoiu (Carbondale, Ill./Carbondale H.S.) assisted on Hansen's goal.

Alex Yates (Washington, Ill./Peoria Christian H.S.) logged six saves for the visitors. GU outshot Eureka, 21-4.

The Red Devils will continue SLIAC play Wednesday at 5 p.m. against Webster in St. Louis, Mo.
