WYOMING, Mich. – Eureka College sophomore Michael Hansen (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S.) tallied the Red Devils' first goal of the 2017 season early in Tuesday's non-conference match Grace Bible (Mich.), but the Tigers scored three times midway through the contest and withstood Eureka's late rally for a 3-2 win over EC in Wyoming, Mich.

Hansen put the Red Devils on top in the 15th minute when his unassisted goal beat Grace Bible goalkeeper Jake Larsen. The Tigers managed to pull even at 25:17 when Jorge Leon finished Dylan DeVries' feed for a 1-1 tie.

Dustin DeVries pushed the hosts in front 2-1 with a goal shortly after halftime. Leon delivered further insurance when his goal in the 66th minute made the score 3-1 in favor of the hosts.

EC's Hector Valera (Moline, Ill./Moline H.S.) kept the pressure on the Tigers with a strike at 69:25 to pull the Red Devils within a goal, but Grace Bible held on for the 3-2 victory.

The Tigers outshot the Red Devils 34-7 Tuesday. Hansen took a team-high three shots, two of which were on target. Daniel Johnson (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) made 14 saves in net for the Red Devils.

Eureka will return home for a 4 p.m. start against Emmaus Bible Thursday at Traister Field.
