Eureka Wins Third In A Row

Rockford, Ill. -- The Eureka College Red Devils extended their win streak yesterday to three games after a 3-2 victory over the Rockford University Regents. Freshman James Bowen (Homer Glen, Ill./Seneca) collected two goals in the victory. The first -- minute 47 -- was assisted by Kyle Shanahan (Pekin, Ill./Pekin). The second -- minute 88 -- was assisted by Brady Thomas (Mt. Pulaski, Ill./Mt. Pulaski) [Lincoln Christian University].

In the first half, Eureka came out strong, making eight shots with five on frame. Rockford regained possession and scored in the 15th minute. Thomas made a come back in the 42nd minute with an equalizer to ensure the Red Devils entered the half with a tie.

Entering the second half, Bowen scored his second collegiate goal in the 47th minute. Eureka fought off Rockford, but the host team broke through to score in the 70th minute. Overall, the Regents outshot the Red Devils 23-13, with 11-8 on frame.

The Red Devils (3-0) will resume play at Manchester in Manchester, In. with the kickoff scheduled at 3 pm.
