Springfield, Ill. – Sophomore Daniel Johnson (Eureka/Eureka, Ill.) collected his second collegiate shutout in the Red Devils' 4-0 victory over Robert Morris University at Springfield. Today's victory ties the school record for the best record in program history.
Brady Thomas (Mt. Pulaski, Ill./Mt. Pulaski) [Lincoln Christian University] collected a hat trick, scoring in the 5th, 21st, and 89th minutes. The first two were assisted by Mark Murphy (Morton, Ill./Morton) and the third was assisted by Tim Johnson (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame).
James Bowen (Homer Glen, Ill./Seneca) also collected a goal, scoring in the 81st minute from a cross by Brock Musoiu (Carbondale, Ill./Carbondale).
Eureka out-shot RMU 26-2. Thomas and Johnson collected five shots apiece to lead the Red Devils.
The Red Devils (5-1, 1-0 SLIAC) pick up conference play tomorrow versus the Spalding Golden Eagles with kickoff scheduled for 2 pm.
