Red Devils Shut Down In Full Time

Eureka, Ill. -- The Red Devils were shut down by the Highlanders today by a score of 2-0. MacMurray took the advantage in the 11th minute for the win. 

Entering the last week of regular season play, the Red Devils could not get a break against winless MacMurray. The ball moved evenly throughout the field, but the Highlanders managed to get a breakaway early in the match to take the lead. Afterwards, the ball continued to move evenly between the teams. It was not until the latter part of the second half that the Highlanders scored again in the 80th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Daniel Johnson (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) walked away with three saves on the day, with two in the first half and the remaining in the second. Sophomore Brady Thomas (Mt. Pulaski, Ill./Mt. Pulaski) led the Red Devils with four shots, three of which were on frame. As a team, Eureka had an aggregate number of shots on frame of 16 to MacMurray's 8. MacMurray also conceded 17 fouls to Eureka's 14 fouls. 

The Red Devils (6-11, 1-7 SLIAC) will play their last non-conference game of the season in Dubuque, IA versus Emmaus Bible College. Kick off is scheduled for 4 pm.
