Baer and Brown Combine for 81 in Loss to Greenville

GREENVILLE, IL. – The Eureka men's basketball team was unable to take down Greenville on the road on Wednesday, falling 124-109.

The lead changed hands 18 times in this high scoring affair, but a late run saw the Panthers take a decisive lead. Eureka led 85-81 with 11 minutes remaining before Greenville's 26-7 scoring run gave them the advantage late in the game.  

Peewee Brown (Peoria, Ill./Manual/Lincoln) led the Red Devils in scoring, notching his 3rd double-double of the season (and 2nd in 2 games) with an impressive career-high 48 points, as well as 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Cody Baer (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap/Southwestern Illinois) also posted a double-double, putting up 33 points and picking up 16 rebounds. It was his 13th double-double of the season. Jonah Lauff (Pana, Ill./Pana) joined Baer and Brown in double-digit scoring with 10 points off the bench.

Six Panthers ended with double digit scoring: Kiarie Patrick (21pts), Ja'Rod Webb (18pts), Grimmett Glenn (16pts), Vincent Rodriguez (14pts), Kaidyn Johnson (13pts), and Darius Scott (11pts).

Eureka (7-17, 5-12 SLIAC) returns to play on Saturday for their last game of the regular season. They will be on the road at Principia College (6-18, 5-12 SLIAC) at 3:00 PM CST.
