EUREKA — For the seventh and final time, Eureka's Dakota Bennington (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-3 senior ended his collegiate career with an unforgettable 44-point performance on Saturday that featured a highlight reel's worth of emphatic dunks and acrobatic launches toward the basket.

He shot 19-for-26 from the field as the Red Devils rallied past Greenville for a 137-129 victory on senior day, and averaged 27 points per game on the week while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor and contributing 6.5 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block per game.

It was EC's fifth Player of the Week honor of the season and Bennington's seventh of the past three years.

Bennington transferred to EC in 2017 after starting his career at Olivet Nazarene. He walked off the floor for the Red Devils on Saturday with his name all over the EC record book.

He's fifth in program history in field goals with 568, fifth in field goal attempts with 1,102, fifth in free throws with 314, fifth in free throw attempts with 396, sixth in career points with 1,535 and seventh in blocked shots with 55.

The Red Devils finished the 2019-20 season with a 16-9 record overall and an 11-7 mark in the conference, falling just shy of making the SLIAC Tournament.
