Dakota Bennington Snags Second Straight SLIAC Player of the Week Honor

EUREKA – For the second week in a row and the third time this season, Eureka College's Dakota Bennington is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

After averaging a double-double in a pair of SLIAC contests and capturing the title last week, the 6-foot-3 junior put together another strong week for the Red Devils.

The Peoria Christian product averaged 31 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and from distance, and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.

He scored a team-high 22 points, gathered a team-high 11 rebounds and dished a team-high four assists against Principia on Tuesday. Then, on Saturday, he dropped a career-high 40 points while collecting six rebounds and leading the team with four steals in a 116-91 win over Fontbonne.

The Red Devils (7-13, 7-8) are hosting Greenville (16-6, 3-2) on Monday night in a much-anticipated showdown between the SLIAC's two highest scoring teams. The action begins 7:30 p.m. at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center.
