Dakota Bennington Earns Second SLIAC Player of the Week Honor

EUREKA — For the second time this season, Eureka College's Dakota Bennington is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-3 junior collected the honor Monday after averaging a double-double in a pair of SLIAC contests this week.

In a competitive loss against Blackburn on Thursday, the Peoria Christian product warmed up by tallying 25 points, five rebounds and three steals. Then, in Saturday's statement win over conference leader Webster, Bennington delivered an eyebrow-raising 26-point, 16-rebound, 5-assist performance.

All told, he finished the week putting up 25.5 points and pulling down 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor.

Bennington and the Red Devils (7-12, 6-7) head on the road Tuesday to take on Principia (3-17, 2-11) at 7:30 p.m.
