Chet Griffith Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eureka College junior guard Chet Griffith (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, according to an announcement from the organization on Tuesday. Griffith's selection marks the fifth consecutive season an EC men's basketball student-athlete has earned the academic honor from the NABC.

An accounting major, Griffith appeared in five contests for the Red Devils last season and has made 17 career appearances off the bench since 2014.

To be eligible for the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must be a junior or senior on the varsity roster and own a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year. Additionally, students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution and be a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

The NABC, located in Kansas City, Mo., was founded in 1927 by Forrest "Phog" Allen, the legendary University of Kansas basketball coach. The largest professional association of basketball coaches, the NABC currently claims a membership of nearly 5,000 men's basketball coaches throughout the ranks of the NCAA, NAIA, junior and community colleges and high school.
