Feehan, Davis Land All-SLIAC Honors

GREENVILLE, Ill. – Eureka College sophomore guard Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) was named to the All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team and junior guard Kendall Davis (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S./Illinois Central) secured a spot on the All-SLIAC Second Team, league commissioner Angie Morenz announced Friday at the SLIAC Tournament in Greenville, Ill.

Feehan is a two-time All-SLIAC pick after earning Third Team honors and the league's Newcomer of the Year award last season. The Peoria Notre Dame graduate rewrote a portion of the EC record book this season, breaking single-season school records with a 26.7 scoring average, 173 free throws made and a .930 free throw percentage. His 173 free throws and .930 percentage ranked fourth among NCAA Division III players as of the end of the regular season.

Additionally, Feehan finished the campaign with 641 points, second-most in a season in program history and one of only four 600-point seasons in 98 years of Eureka men's basketball. He scored 30 points or more nine times, including a 40-point outburst in the Red Devils' Nov. 27 win over Monmouth. He'll enter his junior campaign next November with 928 career points, 72 shy of becoming Eureka's first 1,000-point scorer since Mark Lessen in 2013-14. He also made 86 3-pointers in 2016-17, sixth-most in a season by a Red Devil since the 3-point line was introduced in 1986.

Davis provided an offensive punch in his first season in a Eureka uniform, ending the 25-game season with 568 points to rank 10th on the Red Devils' single-season list. His 228 field goals ranked third nationally and were fifth-most in a season in program history. Davis averaged 22.7 points, trailing only Feehan's 26.7 average for the single-season Eureka record. He was also a force at the foul line, knocking down free throws at an .851 clip to rank sixth on the Red Devils' single-season list.

Davis exceeded the 30-point mark eight times in 2016-17 and poured in a career-high 37 in the Red Devils' Nov. 19 win over Rockford.

Junior Cade Fawcett (Canton, Ill./Canton H.S.) was Eureka's representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. One player from all 10 SLIAC schools are named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Iowa Wesleyan's Steven Soukup was named SLIAC Player of the Year. Trevaughn Goodman of Principia collected Newcomer of the Year honors and first-year PC head coach Todd Zimmerman was chosen SLIAC Coach of the Year after piloting the Panthers to their first SLIAC Tournament bid since 2005.

Eureka finished the 2016-17 season with a 13-12 record, the program's first winning campaign since the 2012-13 season.
