Westminster Defeats Red Devils, 79-60

FULTON, Mo. -- Eureka College sophomore guard Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) moved into ninth place on the Red Devils' single-season scoring list with 13 points, but host Westminster used a quick start to notch a 79-60 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over EC, Monday night in Fulton, Mo.

The Blue Jays led Monday's game 39-24 at halftime after shooting 47 percent from the floor and 40 percent from long range in the first 20 minutes.

Eureka fought to close the gap in the second half, using a 12-4 run midway through the frame thanks to baskets from freshman Koby White (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield H.S.), Feehan, freshman forward Jordan Dehm (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) and sophomore guard Brady Sanders (Minonk, Ill./Fieldcrest H.S./Illinois Wesleyan), but the push wasn't enough.

Feehan improved his season point total to 567, moving ahead of Kameron Bell's 2009-10 total of 564 for ninth place on the program's single-season scoring list. Feehan needs an additional 86 points this season to match Chris Peterson's school record of 653 points set during the 1993-94 season.

Sanders matched a career high with 12 points off the bench. Junior Kendall Davis (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S./Illinois Central) and sophomore Alex Wiegand (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) each added eight points.

Eureka will be back in action Wednesday in an 8 p.m. SLIAC start against MacMurray at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena.
