Red Devils shoot down Prairie Fire 107-97 in non-conference action

EUREKA, Ill. -- The Eureka College men's basketball team got 24 points from senior sharp-shooter Sam Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame [Illinois Central]) en route to a 107-97 non-conference victory over Knox College, Wednesday night inside the Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center. The point total was the second-highest in ninth-year head coach Chip Wilde's tenure here at EC.

Eureka scored 39 of their points from beyond the arc and received 29 points from the bench. The Red Devils shot a blistering 13-for-20 (.650) from the 3-point line and 35-for-56 (.625) from the field. In addition to the hot shooting from the field, EC poured in 24-of-29 (.828) free throws. Eureka shot above 60% from the field for the first time since 2010. All seven Red Devils that saw action in the contest scored in double figures.

Junior forward Parker Gibson (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac [St. John's NW Military]) finished a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor, including a pair of treys, for a career-high 17 points. Senior guard Tommy Goulding (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora [Aurora]) netted 19 points along with five assists, both season-highs, while sophomore forward Austin Ahnafield (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley) chipped in a career-high 12 points.

KC's Cayleb Herrera paced the visitors with a game-high 26 points on 10-for-14 (.714) shooting from the floor. Robert Suntkin added 16 and distributed four assists, while Marcellis Davis and Deandre Weathersby came off the bench for 13 points apiece.
