WACO, Texas – For the third time in 2018, Eureka has received votes in the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll. The Red Devils received three votes in the season-ending 2018 poll, the second consecutive season in which the Red Devils appeared on at least one ballot in the final AFCA poll.

Final AFCA Division III Coaches' Poll

Eureka received votes in the poll twice earlier this season on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, part of the Red Devils' school-record regular-season win streak that reached 16 games. The Oct. 22 appearance marked the first time EC received votes in a national Top 25 poll during the regular season since November 1994. The Red Devils have now appeared in at least one national weekly ballot 22 times since Sept. 16, 1991.

Eureka went 9-2 in 2018, including a 6-1 mark in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play to win the outright league championship. The Red Devils also advanced to the 32-team NCAA Division III playoffs field for the second consecutive season.

Fifteen Red Devils were named to the All-NACC Team, head coach Kurt Barth was voted NACC Coach of the Year and senior running back Le'Anthony Reasnover (Momence, Ill./Momence H.S.) was named NACC Offensive Player of the Year. Reasnover, one of 13 finalists for the Gagliardi Trophy awarded to the nation's top Division III player, has since earned All-America honors from the AFCA, Associated Press and D3football.com.

The AFCA began publishing a Division III Top 25 Coaches' poll in 1999. The poll follows the same basic format as the USA Today Coaches' Poll. The Division III Board of Coaches has 42 voters representing all Division III conferences.
