Trever Zeibert Selected to D3football.com All-Region Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Eureka College junior defensive end Trever Zeibert (Monee, Ill./Peotone H.S.) has been chosen for the D3football.com All-West Region Third Team, according to an announcement from the organization Monday night. Zeibert is the first Red Devil to receive All-Region honors since 2011.

Zeibert was an anchor on the Eureka defensive unit that yielded only 17.4 points per game, Eureka's lowest mark since the 1991 squad gave up 8.4 points per game in the regular season. Zeibert led the Red Devils with 51 tackles and his 11.5 sacks were the most on record by a Eureka defender since 2001. He was also credited 14.0 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, an interception, five pass breakups and three blocked kicks. EC allowed a league-low 280 yards per game this season.

According to D3football.com Executive Editor Pat Coleman, the teams are selected in balloting by West Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff. The honorees were chosen from 260 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 77 players were chosen.

Zeibert's selection marks Eureka's first D3football.com All-Region choice since Wes Schmidgall was named to the Third Team in 2011.

Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Dec. 16.
