Trever Zeibert Named UMAC Defensive Team Player of the Week

ST. Paul, Minn. -- For the first time in his career, Eureka College sophomore defensive end Trever Zeibert (Monee, Ill./Peotone) has been selected as the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday morning. Zeibert anchored a Eureka defensive unit that held an opponent to 21 points for the third consecutive game in the Red Devils' 21-14 home defeat against St. Scholastica last Saturday.

The second-year defense end, compiled a team-best 12 tackles, including eight solos, 2.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks in the UMAC defeat. He also forced a fumble, leading a Eureka defense that forced three St. Scholastica turnovers.

Zeibert becomes the fourth Red Devil to earn a UMAC Player of the Week award in 2015. Punter Collin Aimone(Spring Valley, Ill./Hall) received the honor after Eureka's season-opening 32-21 win versus Knox, while running back LeAnthony Reasnover (Momence, Ill./Momence) and returner Antonio Greenwood (Momence, Ill./Momence) were last week's offensive and special teams recipient after helping guide the Red Devils to a 55-21 triumph at Martin Luther.

Zeibert and the Red Devils will look to rebound and pick up their second UMAC victory on Saturday at MacMurray. Kickoff at Freesen Field in Jacksonville, Ill. is set for 1 p.m.
