MILLINGTON, Tenn. – The Sewanee baseball team got its bats going late on Wednesday, notching seven runs in the last four innings to down Eureka 9-1.

Eureka's Cole Tanner (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria/Knox) put the Red Devils on the board with an RBI double that scored Garrett Flaagan (Eagle, Ill./Eagle Valley/Williston State) in the third inning. Flaagan singled through the left side and advanced to second on a groundout to set up the run.

The Tigers came up with a run in each of the first two innings.

The Red Devils put two on and had three straight hits in the bottom of the sixth, but Braden Cox (Washington, Ill./Illini Bluffs/Black Hawk) got thrown out at the plate and Sewanee got a groundout to get out of the inning.
Eureka finished with one run on eight hits.

Tanner and Brandt King (Stillman Valley, Ill./Stillman Valley) both went 2-for-4 at the plate on the day and contributed a double. Flagaan, Cox, Chase Ulrich (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone/Illinois Central College) and Karter Hostetler (Morton, Ill./Morton) each had a single.

Eureka (2-7) will wrap up its spring break trip with a rematch against Alfred State (7-2) on Thursday at 11 a.m. The Red Devils just came up short against the Pioneers in a 6-4 battle on Tuesday.
