EUREKA — Sean Green (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) is the first Eureka College baseball player of the program's modern era to receive American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region honors.

The senior center fielder was named Second Team All-Region after hitting .394 with three home runs and 16 runs batted in in his final season as a Red Devil. He was second in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in batting average and finished with 43 hits, 39 runs scored, nine doubles and a league-leading five triples.

Green also led the Red Devils in total bases (71) and extra-base hits (17) while recording a .511 on-base percentage and slugging .651.  A First Team All-SLIAC honoree, Green swiped 29 bases – the second most in the SLIAC and the most in a single season in the program's modern era.

In center field, the Limestone product racked up 80 putouts and two assists in 83 chances, only committing one error while making enough spectacular plays to fill a highlight reel.

The last Red Devil to receive American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region honors was Bobby Freeman, who received Third Team honors in 2005. John DeCicco also received Second Team honors in 1997.

The ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Americans will be announced the evening of Thursday, May 30. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 19.
