Senior Spotlight: John Kurtz

Senior Spotlight: John Kurtz

Eureka College sports information director Alex Hess caught up with senior John Kurtz of the baseball team for the thirteenth release of the 2015-16 weekly Senior Spotlight series that will have new seniors interviewed on selected Wednesdays.

Q. What is your greatest athletic memory at Eureka College?

I can't say I can single out my greatest memory of Eureka College Baseball but the thing I will take away the most is watching this program grow over the last few years. My first year apart of the program I really questioned myself if I made the right decision or not in choosing Eureka College to continue to my baseball career but now I can look into the eyes of any future Red Devil baseball players and say to them that this program is going into the right direction and is going to do some special things in the near future. In approximately a month I'll be proud to say that I'm an alumni of the Eureka College Baseball Program.

Q. Describe yourself in one sentence?

I would describe myself as a person that can persevere through just about anything that life can put me through.

Q. Aside from playing (sport), what are some of your other passions?

Some of my other passions would be sitting in the bleachers at Wrigley Field watching the Cubs wave the "W" flag and my second passion would also be reading some romantic novels while sitting on the beach.

Q. What do you plan on doing after graduation from Eureka College with your (degree)?

I plan on finding an Education job in the area and to help coach at Eureka College for the baseball program.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give an incoming freshman?

One piece of advice I would give to an incoming freshman would be to dream big because only you can control how bad you really want to achieve something.
