Red Devils sputter against Eagles

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka College baseball team fell in a non-conference rematch with the Robert Morris-Peoria Eagles, Tuesday afternoon at Henry Sand Field.

Sophomore Trever Zeibert (Monee, Ill./Peotone) collected two hits in the contest, pushing his hitting streak to 13 games, while freshman Grant Mullin (Hegewisch, Ill./St. Rita) also tallied two hits to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Mullin added two RBIs and a stolen base.

Freshman Jake Miller (Washington, Ill./Washington) and sophomore Michael Manard (Champaign, Ill./Champaign Central) each scored a pair of runs for the Red Devils.

Freshman relief pitcher Tyler Woods (Oblong, Ill./Oblong) twirled 3.2 innings of solid relief work out of the pen, scattering three hits and two earned runs.

The Red Devils turn around and take on the Elmhurst College Blue Jays tomorrow right here at Henry Sand Field. First pitch of the non-conference bout is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
